Ingredients:

  • 3-4 Each - Apples, peeled and cored

  • 3 TBSP - Butter, divided

  • 1/4 Cup - Rolled Oats

  • 1/4 Cup - Chopped Walnuts

  • 1-1/2 TBSP - Brown Sugar, divided

  • 2 TBSP - Cinnamon, divided

  • 2 TSP - Nutmeg, divided

  • Salt

Preparation:

  1. Melt 2 TBSP of butter in a pan over medium heat. Add apples, 1 TBSP of brown sugar, 1-1/2 TBSP of cinnamon, 1-1/2 TSP of nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.

  2. Stir together and cook until apples are tender.

  3. Meanwhile, in a smaller pan, melt remaining butter over medium heat.

  4. Add oats, nuts, and remaining spices.

  5. Cook until oats are toasty, being careful not to burn.

  6. Place apples in a bowl and top with oat topping.

  7. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • I prefer gala or granny smith apples, but use any apples on hand.

  • Don't have walnuts? Pecans or almonds work just fine!

  • Get creative! Instead of apples, try peaches. Top off with some of your favorite ice cream. I like vanilla or butter pecan...YUM!
